The Fall of Tartaria by filmmaker Michael Finney explores an alternative history of a civilization similar to the tale of Atlantis through artificial intelligence-generated images, video, and voices.

Director, Michael Finney said, “There’s a great myth of Tartaria, a globe-spanning empire, that has sprung up on the internet over the years that I felt was a perfect candidate for AI treatment. I learned about the stories of mudflood destruction while researching for Chicago 1893 and wanted to bring it to life.”

Creative Team Lead, Chris Hackett said, “The Fall of Tartaria spins a mesmerizing tale around a lost civilization, its storytelling genius unveiling the wonders of an entire world within our own. Through AI’s ability to vividly render these imagined realms, this fictional masterwork allows us to behold the exquisite beauty and splendor of a bygone era remade in vivid detail.”

CEO of NAX Films, Sherry MacCracken said, “The NAX + AI collaborative residency initiative is a decentralized space for AI artists to work together with other experienced film and AI professionals, while also pursuing, and receiving support for their solo projects. The artists leverage tools such as Runway and other resources, made possible by sponsors like Entertainmint, while sharing learnings and techniques with their fellow participating artists. We are so proud and excited to support Michael with his latest AI film The Fall of Tartaria.”

The film is available to watch for free on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter/X.
